The Bristol Bus Boycott KS2-One Week Lesson Plan
In 1963, the people of Bristol said no.
The Bristol Omnibus Company refused to employ Black and Asian bus crews. So Bristol's Black community organised a boycott of the buses, and after four months the company changed its policy. It's a story about fairness, peaceful protest and people power, and it helped pave the way for Britain's first race relations laws. This one week pack brings it to life for children aged 7-11.
