A-Z of Black Inventions KS1-Six Week Lesson Plan
A guitar, a pram, a mailbox. There are stories of Black invention all around us.
From traffic lights to a Super Soaker, Black inventors have helped shape the everyday objects we use. This six-week pack introduces children aged 5–7 to six inventions: a guitar, a pram, a mailbox, an ironing board, traffic lights and a Super Soaker. Each week opens up a new story of creativity, curiosity and solving problems.
Through storytelling and hands-on exploration, children discover how ideas become inventions, testing materials, exploring vibration and investigating pumps and colour along the way.
