Terms of service

Terms & Conditions Last updated: 21 October 2026

  1. Who we are These resources are published by Narrative Black History Group (a sole trader). In these terms, 'we' and 'us' means Narrative Black History Group, and 'you' means the person or organisation purchasing a resource. You can contact us at orders@narrativeblackhistory.co.uk
  1. What you are buying Narrative Black History Group offers digital educational resources and physical products.

Our digital educational resources are available in two editions:

  • Family Edition: Resources designed for families to explore Black history together.
  • School Edition: Resources designed for educational use in schools, with immersive storytelling, teaching guidance and supporting activities.

Each product page explains what is included in the resource, the intended audience and the applicable price.

When you purchase a digital resource, you purchase a licence to use that resource under the terms set out in this policy. You do not acquire ownership of the resource or its underlying intellectual property.

When you purchase a physical product, you are purchasing the physical item described on the relevant product page. Intellectual property rights in the artwork, designs, text and accompanying materials remain with us or our licensors unless expressly stated otherwise.

  1. Digital resource licences Family Edition licence

A Family Edition licence permits use of the purchased resource within one household, for personal family learning. The resource may be printed, adapted and reused within that household in accordance with these terms.

The resource must not be shared with other households, groups, organisations or schools, or uploaded to public websites or shared drives.

School Edition licence

A School Edition licence permits use of the purchased resource within the school or educational setting specified on the relevant product page and order confirmation.

Unless the product page expressly states otherwise, the licence covers one school site. It permits relevant staff at that site to use the resource for educational purposes within that school.

The resource must not be shared with other schools, including other schools within the same trust or federation, without the appropriate permission or licence.

General licence conditions

Both licences are subject to the restrictions in these terms, including the rules on copying, sharing, resale, intellectual property and use of illustrations or artwork separately from the resource.

School Edition licence

A School Edition licence permits use of the purchased resource by staff across one school site, for the Key Stage specified on the product page and order confirmation.

A licence for a Key Stage 1 resource covers use of that resource throughout the school for Key Stage 1. A licence for a Key Stage 2 resource covers use of that resource throughout the school for Key Stage 2.

Each licence covers the purchased Key Stage only. If a school wishes to use resources for both Key Stages, it must purchase the relevant licences for both.

A licence covers the pack purchased. A one-week pack licence covers that one-week resource. A six-week pack licence covers all six weeks within that pack. In each case the licence applies to the same school site and Key Stage.

A School Edition licence has no expiry date and lasts indefinitely, provided these terms are followed.

The resource must not be shared with other schools, including other schools within the same trust or federation, without the appropriate permission or licence.

4. What no licence allows, whichever type you hold

  • Uploading the resource to any public website, shared drive, or resource-sharing platform.
  • Reselling it, or including it in any resource you offer for sale.
  • Removing our branding or the licence notice from any page.
  • Using the illustrations, artwork or design elements separately from the resource itself.

5. Adapting the resource You are welcome to edit and adapt resources for your own teaching. Any adaptation remains subject to these terms and may not be shared outside the household, group or school covered by your licence. Please leave our branding and the licence notice in place on any adapted version.

6. If you need a different licence If your circumstances change — a family group growing past its licensed size, — contact us and we will sort out the right licence rather than you needing to buy again from scratch.

7. Delivery and access Resources are delivered digitally after purchase, via a download link sent to the email address used at checkout. If you have any difficulty accessing your files, contact us at orders@narrativeblackhistory.co.uk and we will help.

8. Refunds See our separate Refund Policy for full details. In short: because these are digital products delivered immediately on purchase, refunds are limited once a file has been downloaded, except where a file is faulty or not as described. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.

9. Our rights All intellectual property rights in our resources, including text, structure, artwork, design and branding, remain ours or our licensors'. Nothing in these terms transfers any of those rights to you.

10. If these terms are breached If a resource is used outside the terms of its licence, we may withdraw the licence and require that all copies are deleted. We will always contact you first and try to resolve things sensibly — in most cases the answer is simply arranging the correct licence for your circumstances.

11. Changes to these terms We may update these terms from time to time. The terms that apply to your purchase are those published on the date you bought the resource.

12. Governing law These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
